Ethan James, O.D.

Dr. James is originally from Vermillion, South Dakota where he grew up playing various sports depending on the season. He attended The University of South Dakota in his hometown where he played football for the USD Coyotes as apart of the FCS- Missouri Valley Football Conference. During his five years as a student-athlete, Dr. James also found odd times in his schedule to work part-time at a Private Practice Optometry office as an optician and technician where his love for eyeballs and patient care grew deep. Dr. James obtained his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry within the class of 2024. During his 4th year externships, Dr. James grew his knowledge for treatment and management of various ocular diseases whether acute or chronic, specialty contact lenses, dry eye, among other things across the Midwest. Dr. James prides himself on being a young, enthusiastic professional that truly cares for the patient while also allowing them to feel comfortable. 

Dr. James is an avid sports fan including the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, and Timberwolves, Detroit Red Wings, and lastly Manchester United. Dr. James isn't always a spectator, as he enjoys playing darn near any sport top to bottom with his favorite being basketball, soccer, sand volleyball, golf and newest addition of pickle ball. Health and wellness is another place Dr. James likes to hang his hat whether getting outdoors, hitting the gym, or whipping up a new dish in the kitchen. Dr. James has been known in many walks of life around the communities he resides. Whether volunteering, coaching, he will always be repping a friendly smile w the ability to lend a helping hand as needed.
