Jacob Kydd, O.D.

Dr. Jacob Kydd was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. A golf scholarship brough him to Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU), where he earned an undergraduate degree, played on the IWU golf team, and met his future wife Makenna, also on the IWU golf team.

Dr. Kydd earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University School of Optometry. Throughout optometry school, he was actively involved in several student organizations, including the Sports Vision Club, Contact Lens Club, and Private Practice Club. He served on the board of the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, reflecting his commitment to serving others with compassion and integrity.

Dr. Kydd is passionate about providing comprehensive, patient-centered eye care for individuals of all ages. His professional interests include the diagnosis and management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and dry eye syndrome. He enjoys providing surgical co-management, including comprehensive pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery patients. Dr. Kydd is committed to staying current with advances in eye care to ensure his patients receive the highest quality treatment tailored to their individual needs.

Outside the office, Dr. Kydd enjoys staying active through golf, pickleball, hockey, and curling. He cheers for the Chicago Bears, Indiana Hoosiers, Edmonton Oilers, and Toronto Blue Jays. He and Makenna love attending sporting events and are passionate about giving back to their community by serving at their local church. Whether caring for patients or volunteering, Dr. Kydd strives to build meaningful relationships and make a positive impact in the lives of those around him. Dr. Kydd is passionate about serving the Northeast Indiana community. With deep family ties through his wife, who was raised in the area, he is honored to care for the vision and eye health of the community they proudly call home.
