Board Certified Eye Surgeon

Dr. Hughes is a highly experienced eye surgeon certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Board of Eye Surgery in cataract and laser refractive surgery. He attended Indiana University Medical School where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He also completed his residency at Indiana University. His post-graduate training includes performing Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICLs) in the Dominican Republic. 

For over 15 years Dr. Hughes has concentrated his practice on cataract surgery, offering the most advanced implant lenses available today including lenses to correct presbyopia and astigmatism. He also performs medical and laser treatment for glaucoma and surgeries to correct lower eyelid malpositions such as outward or inward turning eyelids. Dr. Hughes enjoys working together with primary care eye doctors to help provide a team approach to best manage medical and surgical eye conditions. 

Dr. Hughes, wife Tonya, and their feisty Shitzu puppy Clark reside in Fort Wayne. In their spare time they enjoy hunting, cycling, snow skiing, the beach, traveling, and working/playing on the family cattle farm in Trigg County, Kentucky.
